Linda Moe

Linda Moe, 76, of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls. A Celebration of Life Memorial Visitation with the family present will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2026, at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory in Sioux Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Emily’s Hope, the Sioux Falls Humane Society, or the Teddy Bear Den in Linda’s name.

Linda Joan Moe passed peacefully surrounded by love, leaving behind a world made softer by her quiet kindness, thoughtful gestures, homemade treats, and nearly impossible-to-end goodbyes.

Linda was born on April 7, 1950, in Hendricks, Minnesota, to ElRoy and Janet (Hulsebus) Moe. She attended country school near Astoria, South Dakota, before her family moved to Brookings, where she graduated from Brookings High School in 1968. After studying secretarial and clerical training in Mankato for a short time, she returned to Brookings and started a family.

Linda worked for 30 years in production at 3M, fiercely independent and steadily working toward a dream that became one of the greatest joys of her life: retiring, moving to Sioux Falls, and becoming a volunteer Baby Rocker in the Sanford Health NICU. She made that dream come true.

Parkinson’s disease slowed Linda in recent years, but it never changed her determination. She pushed herself hard to remain independent and capable for as long as possible. That stubborn strength carried her through much of life.

Grateful for having shared her life are her daughters, Heidi (Will) Thomssen of Lake Benton, MN, Staci (Jason) Mergenthal of Verdi, MN, and Kalli (Josh) Reisetter of Brookings, SD; grandchildren, Cody Thomssen of Brookings, SD, Garritt Thomssen of Lake Benton, MN, Trav Thomssen of Pipestone, MN, Nick (Mariah) Perry of Brookings, SD, Katera Voss of Brookings, SD, Kalani Perry of Sioux Falls, SD, and Sajen Perry of Brookings, SD; step-grandchildren, Kendra Reisetter of Aberdeen, SD, and Kalen Reisetter of Brookings, SD; great-granddaughter, Josi Jo Thomssen of Pipestone, MN; and brother, Norrill (Marilyn) Moe of Brookings, SD.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Elroy and Janet (Hulsebus) Moe; and granddaughter, Amanda Jo Thomssen.
