BROOKINGS — During National Volunteer Month in April, the Brookings Area United Way, First Bank & Trust and the city of Brookings recognized the volunteers who support organizations and programs across Brookings County.
Brookings Mayor Oepke “Ope” Niemeyer shared a message on Brookings Area United Way’s social media thanking local volunteers, stating, “What makes Brookings County truly stand out is not just that people volunteer — but that so many of you do so with consistency, compassion, and a genuine commitment to others.”
BAUW officials expressed gratitude to all volunteers for the time and service they provide throughout the community.
