BROOKINGS — Area residents gathered at the Brookings Arts Council on May 2 to paint tiles for a mural project for the nation’s 250th birthday celebration.
The tiles that the residents painted will be gathered and pieced together to create a mosaic mural. Once finished, the mural will be displayed on the north side of the VFW at 520 Main Ave. A grand unveiling of the mural will be 7 p.m. on June 4.
The mural project is funded through a grant from the Brookings Public Art Commission.
