BRANDON — The Brookings High School softball team lost a slugfest Friday in Brandon.
The Lynx downed the Bobcats 11-10.
Isla Eidsness paced the Bobcate offensively getting three hits in five at bats, hitting singles in the first, second a fourth innings.
BHS outhit the Lynx 15-12.
A ground out by Ramsie Hinricher plated the first run of the game in the first inning.
Brandon Valley took the lead in the bottom of the first with three runs.
In the top of the second a triple by Maya Erickson, doubles by Kinsey Grenadier and Karla Forester an Eidsness single each produced a run.
Brandon Valley tied the game at 7 in the fourth.
In the top of the fifth Brookings reclaimed the lead on a Kendall Lindstad double, an Erickson single and a wild pitch.
Brandon regained the lead in the bottom of the sixth,
Ella Psyk was the starting pitcher. She allowed 11 hits and seven runs (four earned) over four inning, striking out xix and walking one.
The loss puts the Bobcats at 1-1 on the season.
The Bobcats are scheduled to play Tuesday in Aberdeen.
