Christine Hammer passed away on Feb. 21, 2026 at the age of 85.
Christine was born April 25, 1940, in San Francisco, California, daughter of Kenneth and Pearl Cameron. She relocated in the mid 1970’s to Elkton, South Dakota then to Brookings, South Dakota for many years. She then transitioned to Darby, Montana until she was brought here to Missouri for her remaining years with her family.
Christine had a deep love for gardening and was the proud owner of Green Acres Greenhouse in Darby, Montana. She found great joy in helping others and was well known in her community for her warm spirit and cheerful greeting of “Hey you.” Christine had a special gift for making everyone feel welcome. She was a mother not only to her own children, but to many others who needed love and encouragement.
She is survived by her four sons, Jerry Chaney, Dennis (Sandy) Chaney, Kenny (Karen) Chaney, and Rich Chaney; daughter, Dee Dee (Tom Boos) Renfroe; two brothers, Kenneth (Patty) Cameron and Scott (Jackie) Cameron; brother-in-law, Ralph Roussey; nine grandkids, Rachel, Nicole, Monica, Nick, Amber, Jennifer, Randy, Timmy, and Danny. 23 great-grandkids; and numerous other nieces, nephews, family, and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Paul Cameron, mother, Pearl Lillian (Krischer) Cameron, and sister Judy Roussey.

A celebration of life will be held May 28 from 11a.m.to 3 p.m. at Cubbys Grill.
