South Dakota Department of Corrections

BROOKINGS — The South Dakota Department of Corrections is providing notification to law enforcement and the public about the pending release of state prison offender Dalton Haug.

Haug, 25, will be released on March 16 after serving the entirety of his sentence for intentional damage to property out of Brookings County. Because he served the entirety of his sentence, Haug will not be on parole supervision.

“Given this offender’s criminal history and an elevated risk of reoffending and violent behavior identified through institutional assessments, law enforcement and the public are being notified of this release,” said Secretary of Corrections Nick Lamb.

Haug is releasing to Brookings.

Haug is white, 5-feet-10-inches tall, and weighs approximately 185 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes.
