ELKTON — Someone made off with roughly $6,000 worth of tools during a burglary at Twin City Fan in Elkton, and authorities are looking for the person responsible.

There were a pair of incidents tied to the burglary, with one occurring on Feb. 13 between 10:50 and 11 p.m. and the second taking place on Feb. 22 between 6:50 and 7:10 p.m., according to information from the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office on Feb. 24.

“Surveillance footage from inside the building shows an unidentified individual entering through the north side of the facility, walking through the production area, and collecting tool batteries and chargers,” Assistant Sheriff Dave Biteler wrote in the news release. “The individual then exited through the south side of the building.”

He told The Brookings Register that there were no signs of forced entry into the facility at 210 Badger St. N., adding that between the two incidents, approximately 20 items were reported missing.

Anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area at those times can contact the sheriff’s office at 605-696-8300 or call Crimestoppers at 605-692-7867.

Biteler said the sheriff’s office is continuing to investigate the burglary.
