MITCHELL – The Brookings gymnastics team came in fifth place at the Class A State Gymnastics Meet on Friday night.
The Bobcats came in fifth with a score of 139.8168. Harrisburg won the team title with a score of 151.4834. Mitchell came in second (146.5666) and Watertown finished in third (145.05). Sioux Falls Lincoln came in fourth (143.4333).
Layla Erickson had the top score for the Bobcats in the all around. She came in 10th with a score of 35.9333. Ava Petterson came in 14th with a score of 34.4666.

Erickson led the Bobcats on the vault with a score of 9.25. Annika Krogman was two spots behind Erickson with a 9.2167. Liv Halverson finished with an 8.667 and Maisie Mogard had a score of 8.6667. Petterson had a score of 8.5833 and Nevaeh Strohfus rounded things out for the ‘Cats with an 8.45.
Erickson had a score of 9.2333 to lead the Bobcats in the uneven bars. Kennedy Ronning had a score of 8.8 and Petterson had a score of 8.4. Strohfus finished with an 8.2333 and Harper Overby had a 7.6167.
Krogman led Brookings on the balance beam with a score of 9.5167. Petterson had a score of 8.7833 and Erickson finished with an 8.35. Ronning was the final competitor on the beam for Brookings and she had a score of 8.1333.

Krogman also had the top score in the floor exercise with a 9.2. Halverson finished right behind her with a 9.1833. Ronning was two spots behind Halverson with a 9.1667 and Erickson finished with a 9.1. Strohfus had a score of 8.7833 and Petterson scored an 8.7.
