Sioux Valley wins state cheer title again

WATERTOWN Sioux Valley won its 19th-consecutive competitive cheer state title on Friday night at the Watertown Civic Arena.

The Cossacks had 283 points to win the title. Deubrook Area came in seventh (229.5) and Elkton-Lake Benton came in eighth (229). Iroquois/Lake Preston finished in 11th place (198).

Wolsey-Wessington finished in second (259) and Dell Rapids St. Mary came in third (257). Winner Area came in fourth (246) and Dell Rapids rounded out the top five (238).
