BROOKINGS Brookings Health System has partnered again with the South Dakota Board of Nursing to offer a clinical enrichment program for nursing students. Applications for the paid summer internship are being accepted now until Oct. 31 at brookingshealth.org/CEP.
The clinical enrichment program runs for 10 weeks and offers two nursing students the opportunity to continue learning the practice of nursing outside their formal education. Selected candidates will be paired with a nurse preceptor in their area of interest: obstetrics, inpatient care, surgery or emergency services. As an intern, students will perform tasks of direct and indirect patient care under their nurse preceptors guidance.
At the time of the internship, qualified candidates must be one to two semesters away from completing their degree with an accredited registered nursing program. They must also meet Brookings Healths pre-employment requirements and be certified in basic life support.
Brookings Healths workforce embodies the spirit of teamwork, working together across disciplines to care for local patients and residents. Individuals who want to join Brookings Health Systems nationally recognized healthcare team can find a position right for them at brookingshealth.org/Careers.
