AgDay College Roadshow will tape from South Dakota State on Oct. 22

BROOKINGS South Dakota State University and its vast contributions to agriculture will be showcased during a television taping of the AgDay College Roadshow on campus on Oct. 22. The public is invited to join SDSU students, faculty and staff for the taping.

AgDay host Clinton Griffiths and national reporter Michelle Rook will be there to moderate the program and present timely stories, including a panel discussion with SDSU-affiliated experts on ag economics. The program taping begins at 11:30 a.m. in the high bay area of the Raven Precision Agriculture Center, but those attending are encouraged to arrive as early as 11 a.m.

The program is designed to replicate the excitement of ESPNs College GameDay fan experience, which was broadcast from SDSU in 2019. Fans bring signs and posters of support and are shown on camera.

Attendees are encouraged to bring signs supporting agriculture and SDSU ag programs, and a $250 gift card will be given to the SDSU student bringing the best sign. Also, Becks is sponsoring a contest for student organizations that produce short social media videos and post them prior to the AgDay event. The club or organization with the best video will be awarded $1,500 by Becks.

We look forward once again to welcoming AgDay to our campus, said Joseph Cassady, SDSUs South Dakota Corn-endowed dean of the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences. This is a great opportunity to highlight to a large Midwest audience not only the importance of agriculture but the significant role SDSU plays as our states land-grant institution.

SDSUs episode of AgDay College Roadshow will air Oct. 24 on 170 stations nationwide. Viewers may tune in to their local AgDay station or through a subscription to Farm Journal TV or Farm Journal NOW.
