BROOKINGS The Brookings volleyball team was swept by Sioux Falls Jefferson on Tuesday night at Brookings High School.
It was 22-22 in the first set, but the Cavaliers then won three-straight points to go up 1-0. The Cavaliers then jumped out to a 12-5 lead in set two and hung onto that lead until they won the set 25-18. Jefferson then dominated the third set, winning 25-11, and took the match.
Brookings had 19 kills and 42 digs as a team. Macy Even had seven kills and eight digs. Mia Mahlke had three kills and Sloan McLagan had 11 digs. Kamryn Streich had 12 assists and 10 digs. Taylee Connot had five digs.
The Bobcats fell to 6-15 with the loss. Theyll play at Sioux Falls Washington on Oct. 14 at 6:30 p.m.
