MADISON The Sioux Valley boys golf team qualified for the state tournament on Monday as the Cossacks came in second place in the Region 1A Tournament at the Madison Golf & Country Club.
The Cossacks shot 345 as a team. Aberdeen Roncalli won the tournament after shooting 325. Madison came in third (347) and Milbank and Sisseton tied for fourth (388).
Damon Uecker was the top Cossack and he finished in third after shooting a 78. Trentyn Schmit came in 11th (88) and Landon Hanssen tied for 12th (89). Nate Larson tied for 14th (90) and McCade Nelson came in 26th (104).
Milbanks Jonathan DeBoer won the tournament after shooting a 76. Aberdeen Roncallis Lucas Daggett came in second (77) and Roncallis Harper Schnabel and Madisons Braylon Oftedal tied for fourth (81).
The Class A State Tournament is Oct. 6-7 at The Bluffs Golf Course in Vermillion.
