BROOKINGS For more than 35 years, the Kiwanis Club of Brookings has served pancakes, sausage, coffee, and orange juice as a fundraiser for the club.
The tradition continues this year with the annual Pancake Day set for Sept. 27. Food and drink will be served from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., allowing eaters to come for breakfast, lunch, or anywhere in between. Pancakes are all you can eat. Gluten-free pancakes are available as well as sugar-free syrup.
Tickets are available at the door or in advance from any Kiwanis member for $9 per ticket. Children ages 5 and under can eat for free. The event will be at the Community Life Center, which is at the intersection of Sixth Street and Seventh Avenue.
Event participants can also take their chance at winning a raffle basket. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $1 each or six for $5.
