BROOKINGS The Brookings cross country teams hosted the Russ Strande Invite at Edgebrook Golf Course on Thursday evening.
The Bobcat the girls finished in second place and the boys came in third place. Brookings will compete in the Watertown Invitational on Oct. 2 at 4 p.m.
Girls
The Bobcats had 57 points as a team. Kaylie Kuehl led the way and she came in sixth place (20:45.15). Aubrey Cooley and Maisie Mogard also medaled, coming in eighth (21:03.31) and 10th (21:18.29), respectively. Kalla Foerster came in 21st (22:31.21) and Isabel Overby came in 22nd (22:36.98). Jordyn Johnson finished in 29th (23:14.53) and Natalie Kahler came in 35th (24:30.81). Sofia Gonzalez rounded things out for the Bobcats, coming in 40th (26:57.58.
Boys
Brookings had 86 points as a team. Shane Harming and Marco Springman led the Cats and finished in 11th (17:29.46) and 12th (17:37.45), respectively. Dylan Harr and Garrett Ysbrand finished right by each other as well as Harr came in 19th (18:05.07) and Ysbrand came in 20th (18:06.02). Jack Bierman finished 31st (19:04.71) and Kuddyer Baugher came in 33rd (19:15.44). Weston Baker was the final runner for Brookings and he came in 40th (20:07.79).
