Elkton-Lake Benton, Estelline/Hendricks and Iroquois/Lake Preston all had shutout victories on Friday night.
The Elks beat Great Plains Lutheran 48-0, the Redhawks took down Waverly-South Shore 44-0 and ILP beat Sunshine Bible Academy 44-0.
Elkton-Lake Benton 48, Great Plains Lutheran 0
The Elks continued their dominance this season with another shutout.
Colt Beck found Caden Crofutt for a 15-yard touchdown to get the scoring going for ELB. Eliot Erickson then had a 58-yard touchdown run to make it 14-0. Erickson then caught a 20-yard touchdown pass from Beck and the Elkts failed to convert on the two-point conversion. Beck would toss another 20-yard touchdown and this time it was Myles Poindexter on the receiving end. Beck threw the two-point conversion to Erickson and the Elks took a 28-0 lead into the second quarter.
Erickson scored from four yards out and Wanner Enriquez hit the extra point to make it 28-0. Then Beck found Erickson for a 13-yard score and it was 35-0 at halftime. The lone touchdown from the Elks in the second half was a 43-yard touchdown run from Kaleb Larson.
ELB had 344 yards of offense. Beck was 9-of-11 for 144 yards with four touchdowns and an interception. Erickson had three catches for 48 yards and two scores. Lane Schindler had 53 yards on three catches.
Erickson also had 145 yards and two scored on the ground. He had just six carries. Larson had 50 yards and a touchdown on two carries.
ELB is now 4-1 and has the week off. The Elks will play Garretson on Oct. 3 at 7 p.m.
Estelline/Hendricks 44, Waverly-South Shore 0
The Redhawks improved to 3-1 with the blowout victory.
Regan Schwartz led the way with 223 yards and four touchdowns. Cooper Schaefer had five carries for 52 yards. Eli Brown had eight carries for 38 yards and Cooper Faehnrich had four carries for 16 yards and a score.
Tayden Miller was 2-for-2 with 49 yards and a touchdown. Schaefer also had one catch that was a 35-yard touchdown. Jonathan Moe had a 35-yard catch.
The E/H defense was led by Schaefer who had five tackles. Faehnrich had four tackles and Parker Lantgen had three tackles and one sack. Kayleb Luckhurst four tackles and two sacks. Miller had three tackles and an interception.
E/H hosts Colman-Egan this upcoming Friday at 7 p.m.
Iroquois/Lake Preston 44, Sunshine Bible Academy 0
The Sharks scored early and often on Friday night as they improved to 3-1.
Lucas Peskey got the scoring going with a five-yard touchdown from Lucas Peskey. Peskey then had another five-yard touchdown later in the first quarter and he ran in a two-point conversion to make it 14-0.
Peskey would then have touchdown runs of 33 and 46 yards in the second quarter and ILP took a 28-0 lead into halftime. Ben Curd scored from eight yards out and Peskey ran in the two-point conversion to make it 36-0. The final touchdown of the night for the Sharks was a 27-yard run from Curd.
ILP outgained SBA 362-59. Peskey had 194 yards on 16 carries and Curd had 110 yards on 10 carries. Brycen Blue was 7-of-10 for 80 yards. Curd had three catches for 42 yards.
The Sharks play at Dell Rapids St. Mary this upcoming Friday at 7 p.m.
