South Dakota State needs to improve its parking

I have been attending SDSU football games for 35-plus years. I went to the home opening game. I live less than 1 mile from the stadium. In fact, I can see the stadium from my home. Because someone made the decision to block roads, block the round-about, and put up barriers all over the place (preventing a quick exit out for everyone), it took me one hour to drive home. One hour! One mile!

I do not know who came up with this genius exit idea, but its not working. Listen to the ticket holders/drivers who financially support the football team. It was a disaster last year, and now its continuing this year. For years, all traffic left in an orderly and timely matter. But now, because of some radical senseless exit plan, an hour for traveling less than a mile. Bravomission accomplished. One hour! I, among many others, cannot even drive in the direction that we want. Why?

Time to go back to the drawing board and throw out all these barricades and blocked roads. Yes, admit it someone messed up and now it is time to change the routes. Bring back logic and normal traffic patterns. I cannot even head into the general direction of my place. If the intent was to delay, confuse, irritate, and frustrate drivers trying to get home, then great job/

Why mess up something that has been working great for decades? Stop this insanity and remove the obstacles. Let us leave peacefully. We all want to get home, and this method is not working. Many ticket holders drive great distances, only to spend one hour to get off of campus and then begin their long drive home.

Incidently, the double seats near the fencing in front of the regular stands are for anyone who has difficulty with stairs, etc. I see over and over again spectators who decide to sit there because they want a nicer view. No. Those seats are for fans with walking problems only. Stop taking their seats and sit where your seats are on your ticket stubs. Plus, no standing by the fence.
