YANKTON The Brookings competitive cheer and dance teams each competed in the Yankton Invite on Thursday night.
The Bobcat cheer team came in fourth place with a score of 270.00. Harrisburg came in first place with a score of 289.00. Sioux Falls Jefferson finished in second (277.00) and OGorman came in third (275.00). Mitchell rounded out the top five (209.00).
The Brookings dance team came in ninth with a score of 411.50. Brookings came in sixth in the hip hop portion with a score of 209.5 and came in seventh in the pom portion with a score of 200.
Brandon Valley won the dance competition with a score of 515.50. Dakota Valley came in second (508.50) and Sioux Falls Lincoln finished in third (486.50). Sioux Falls Jefferson finished in fourth (464.50) and Sioux Falls Roosevelt rounded out the top five (461.00).
Brookings will compete in the Huron Invitational on Sept. 16.
