BROOKINGS The Brookings volleyball team was swept by Watertown on Thursday night at Brookings High School.
The Bobcats led 16-12 in the first set and Watertown fought back to tie things at 21-21 later in the set. The Arrows then scored four of the next five points and won set one 25-23.
Brookings then jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the second set, but Watertown went on an 11-1 run to go up 12-5. That would allow the Arrows to cruise to a 25-16 win in set two. The Bobcats fought hard in set three, but ultimately the Arrows completed the sweep with a 25-23 win in set three.
The Bobcats had 14 kills, 26 digs and 13 assists. Macy Even led Brookings with four kills and eight digs. Maddy Fickbohm had three kills and five digs. Sloan McLagan had five digs and Kamryn Streich had five 12 assists and four digs. Taylee Connot had three kills.
Brookings is now 1-6 and hosts Tea Area on Sept. 9 at 7 p.m.
