Grief classes begin Sept. 23 at Brookings Health System

BROOKINGS Brookings Health Systems free six-week educational series, Understanding Grief, will begin Sept. 23. The class series is led by social worker Brooke Pape Johnson, CSW.

Sessions will be Tuesdays through Oct. 28 from 2 to 3:15 p.m. at Brookings Health Systems Conference Room A.

The classes are designed to help those who have lost a loved one learn about the process of grief and how to navigate it. Topics include the symptoms and process of grief, coping strategies, caring for ones self, and the continuing bond that occurs. Discussions are confidential and carried out in an atmosphere of understanding and support.
