Sioux Valley boys come in 12th at Charger Invite

HARRISBURG The Sioux Valley boys golf team came in 12th place at the Charger Invite hosted at Spring Creek Golf Course on Tuesday.

The Cossacks shot 353 as a team. Vermillion came in first by shooting a two-under 286. Dakota Valley came in second (295) and Canton finished in third (301). Tea Area came in fourth (308) and West Central rounded out the top five (317).

Damon Uecker was the top finisher for the Cossacks and he came in 48th place after shooting an 86. Nate Larson came in 52nd (87) and Trentyn Smith finished in 55th (88). Landon Hanssen came in 62nd (92) and McCade Nelson came in 66th (96).

Vermillions Rylan Moren shot a six-under 66 to win the tournament. Vermillions Trey Hansen, Dakota Valleys Tate Cornelsen and Cantons Andrew Steffensen each shot a 70. Landon Baker rounded out the top five with an even par 72.

The Cossacks will head to Mitchell on Friday to compete in the Parkston Invite at the Lakeview Golf Course.
