VOLGA Sioux Valley came away with a four-set victory in its opening volleyball match of 2025 as the Cossacks took down Deuel at the Cossack Center on Tuesday night.
Deuel won the first set 25-19 and the Cossacks then won the next three sets. Sioux Valley won set three 25-17 and then took sets three and four by scores of 25-21 and 25-13.
Sioux Valley had 27 kills, 27 assists and 57 digs as a team. Emma Gorvin led Sioux Valley with 10 kills and 11 digs. Lacey Langland had seven kills and Abygale Degen had five kills. Talya Vincent had 17 digs and Cameron Uecker had 16 assists. McKinley Schwab had 10 assists and Caitlin Russell had eight digs.
The Cossacks will host Clark/Willow Lake on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
