LAKE NORDEN An ultralight plane crash on Aug. 19 sent a Lake Norden resident to a Sioux Falls hospital for treatment of his injuries.
The incident that injured Edward Kangas, 52, occurred roughly a mile west of Lake Norden near state Highway 28, with the call coming in at 8:50 p.m., according to information from the Hamlin County Sheriffs Office. Sheriff Chad Schlotterbeck said Kangass injuries were not considered to be life-threatening.
The cause of the crash is being investigated. Other responding agencies were Lake Norden Fire Department, Lake Norden Ambulance and the South Dakota Highway Patrol.
