SPRINGFIELD State prison offender Justin Copier has died of an apparent suicide, according to a July 21 news release from the South Dakota Department of Corrections.
Copier was found unresponsive in his cell at the Mike Durfee State Prison in Springfield on July 20. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Copier, 25, was serving a sentence for aggravated assault from Moody County.
