Our organization, along with the SDSU School of Communication and Journalism, recently hosted the annual summer conference for the International Society of Weekly Newspaper Editors. More than 70 community newspaper editors from across North America and abroad met for five days on the SDSU campus.
Those attending the conference participated in programs on campus, enjoyed McCrory Gardens, Prairie Repertory Theatre, the summer arts festival, the museums and more. Among the many compliments we received, one stood out: time and again we heard from attendees how beautiful the campus and community were.
The ISWNE members truly were impressed by the attention given to the campus grounds and landscape, the communitys tree-lined streets, parks and much more. Things that we take for granted sometimes, and so it was nice to be reminded by visitors about the beauty of our university and community and the care given to it.
