Bandits shut out despite no-hitter from Breck Wilson

WATERTOWN Breck Wilson did not give up a hit in six innings in the first game against Watertown for the Brookings Bandits on Tuesday night but the Bandits lost the game 3-0.

The second game of the doubleheader was postponed due to weather, but two errors, five walks and five hit batters did them in in the lone game of the night.

Treyton Himmerich was hit by a pitch with two outs in the bottom of the second and he stole second. He made his way to this on a ground ball to third but then an error allowed him to come home and gave the Arrows a 1-0 lead.

Watertown scored another run in the bottom of the fourth. Ashton Rabine reached on an error and then stole second. Himmerich and Cole Hansen then walked to load the bases up with two outs and Hayden Ries was hit by a pitch to bring Rabine home.

Nathan Briggs was walked with one out in the bottom of the fifth and then Talan Jurgens was hit by a pitch. Himmerich was then walked with two outs and Lake was walked as well to score Briggs and make the final 3-0.

Brookings had two hits as Tre Christopherson and Cooper Schneider were each 1-for-3. One of the three runs that Wilson gave up was earned and he had three strikeouts and five walks.

The Bandits are now 16-18 on the season and are scheduled to play a doubleheader in Fargo, N.D., on Thursday starting at 4 p.m.
