PIERRE The South Dakota Commission on Child Support is soliciting public input on potential changes to South Dakota child support guidelines and related state laws. Information on the potential changes is available on the Division of Child Support website.
The commission, conducting its required review of South Dakotas child support guidelines, is comprised of representatives of payors and receivers of support, family law attorneys, the judiciary, the legislature, and the Department of Social Services. The commission may recommend changes reflecting adjustments in the costs of raising children and other related issues.

The schedule of upcoming commission meetings may be found on the South Dakota Boards and Commission portal.
All comments will be reviewed by the commission as part of their deliberations. The commission will submit its report and recommendations to Gov. Larry Rhoden and the legislature by Dec. 31, to be considered during the 2026 legislative session.
