BROOKINGS An asphalt concrete surfacing project is underway on the southbound lanes of Interstate 29 from exit 150 to exit 140 between Watertown and Brookings.
The approximately 12-mile project will also include milling and asphalt concrete resurfacing of on- and off-ramps, guardrail, pipe work, ramp detours, as well as acceleration and deceleration lane modifications.
During the surfacing project, southbound traffic will be diverted to the northbound lanes of I-29 to allow for a continuous two-way traffic configuration. This traffic configuration will remain in place until the project is complete.
The primary contractor for the $9.8 million project is Duininck Inc. of Watertown. The overall project completion date is Oct. 17.
