PARKSTON A Burke man who died in a single-vehicle crash on June 18 east of Parkston was identified by authorities on Saturday.
Preliminary crash information indicates Michael Donald Gunvordahl, 81, the driver of a 2011 Ford Econoline 350, was traveling westbound on state Highway 44 when the vehicle left the roadway, vaulted over a field approach and rolled. Gunvordahl was pronounced dead at the scene 11 miles east of Parkston.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.
The Highway Patrol is an agency of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
