Brookings Swim Club competes in two summer meets

The Brookings Swim Club opened the summer swim season with two meets.

The BSC hosted the Brookings Swim Club Summer Splash at the Hillcrest Aquatic Center on June 6-8 and then traveled to Aberdeen for the Aberdeen Summer High Point Meet on June 13-15.

Brookings had 15 swimmers with first-place finishes in Brookings.

Wyatt deBlonk won five races. He came in first in the 50 meter back, 50 meter freestyle, 100 meter breast, 100 meter freestyle and 200 meter medley relay.

Sofia Gonzalez won the 1500 meter freestyle and the 800 meter free and Cassie Hendricks came in first in the 50 meter freestyle and 100 meter back. Margaret Abbas won the 50 meter back and Harper Drawdy came in first in the 200 meter medley relay. Quinn Humprhey won the 100 meter breast and the 50 meter back. Jorgen Johnson and Kjersten Jonhson each won the 200 meter medley relay.

Ethan Kuhnl came in first in the 200 meter medley relay and Emmet Morehouse won the 50 meter breast. Brooklyn Rausch and McKinley Schwab each came in first in the 200 meter medley relay. Matt Sorenson finished in first in the 50 meter freestyle, 100 meter freestyle and 100 meter breast.

Landry Tidstrom came in first in the 100 meter back and Damon Venner won the 100 meter fly and 100 meter back. Jensen Weber won the 200 meter medley relay.

Kalla Foerster had five second-place finishes. She came in second in the 50 meter freestyle, 100 meter freestyle, 100 meter back, 200 meter breast and 200 meter IM. Sofia Gonzalez came in second in the 100 meter breast and 400 meter freestyle. Quinn Humphrey came in second in the 50 meter freestyle, 50 meter breast, 100 meter freestyle and 200 meter freestyle relay

Kjersten Johnson came in second in the 50 meter breast, 100 meter breast and 200 meter freestyle relay. Teddy Kessler finished in second in both the 50 and 100 meter back. Ella Morehouse came in second in the 100 meter breast, 200 meter medley relay and 400 meter freestyle. Emmett Morehouse finished in second in the 50 meter freestyle, 100 meter freestyle, 200 meter medley relay and 400 meter freestyle.

Otto Nelson came in second in 200 meter medley relay and Kendra Pikul finished in second in the 1500 meter freestyle. Addelyn Rausch came in second in the 200 meter medley relay and Matt Sorenson finished in second in the 100 meter fly and 100 meter back. Damon Venner came in second in the 50 meter freestyle. 100 meter freestyle and 100 breast.

Jensen Weber finished in second in the 50 meter back, 50 meter freestyle, 100 meter fly, 200 meter freestyle, 200 meter IM, 200 meter freestyle relay. Wyatt deBlon came in second in the 50 meter breast, 100 meter back and 200 meter freestyle relay,

Josephine Abbas came in third in the 200 meter medley relay and Margaret Abbas came in third in the 50 meter breast and 200 meter freestyle. Kalla Foerster came in third in the 100 meter freestyle, 100 meter breast and 200 meter freestyle relay.

Sofia Gonzalez came in third in the 200 meter back, 200 meter freestyle relay and 200 meter medley relay. Wesley Hanson-McComb finished in third in the 50 meter freestyle, 100 meter fly and 400 meter freestyle. Quinn Humphrey and Scarlett Januszewski each came in third in the 200 meter medley relay. Jorgen Johnson came in third in the 200 meter medley relay and 200 meter freestyle.

Makena Joihnson came in third in the 200 meter medley relay. Teddy Kessler came in third in the 100 meter freestyle and 200 meter medley relay. Brendan Kuehl came in third in the 200 meter medley relay and Ethan Kuhn came in third in the 200 meter freestyle relay. Ella Morehouse came in third in the 50 meter breast and Emmett Morehouse finished in third in the 50 meter back, 200 meter freestyle and 800 meter freestyle.

Kendra Pikul came in third in the 200 meter medley relay and 50 meter freestyle. Addelyn Raush came in third in the 100 meter breast and 50 meter back. Hudson Rausch finished in third in the 50 meter freestyle, 50 meter fly and 200 meter freestyle. Jensen Weber finished in third in the 100 meter freestyle and 100 meter back.

Aberdeen Summer High Point Meet

Fourteen Brooking swimmers attended the meet in Aberdeen.

Wesley Hanson-McComb had a very successful meet with seven top-five finishes. He came in second in the 100 meter fly and third place in both the 50 meter breast and 100 meter freestyle. Hanson-McComb came in fourth in the 50 meter fly, 50 meter freestyle, 100 meter breast and 400 meter freestyle. He came in eighth place in the 100 meter meter back.

Hudson Rausch was also successful as he came in fifth in the 50 meter fly, 50 meter back, 100 meter freestyle and 100 meter fly. He also came in sixth in the 50 meter freestyle and eighth in the 50 meter breast.

Kjersten Johnson came in second in both the 100 meter breast and 50 meter breast. She also came in sixth in the 100 meter back and seventh in the 800 meter freestyle. Johnson came in seventh in the 50 meter freestyle, ninth in the 800 meter freestyle, 10th in the 100 meter freestyle, 13th in the 50 meter fly and 14th in the 50 meter back.

Addelyn Rausch came in fifth in the 100 meter back and sixth in the 50 meter back. She came in ninth in the 50 meter fly and 15th in the 50 meter freestyle. Rausch finished in 13th in both the 50 and 100 meter freestyle.

Kendra Pikul came in sixth in the 400 meter IM and 190th in the 100 meter freestyle. She also finished in 12th in the 50 meter freestyle, 17th in the 50 meter breast, 18th in the 200 meter IM and 19th in the 50 meter fly.

Margaret Abbas came in fifth in the 200 meter freestyle. Edith Meland came in eighth in the 50 meter back and 13th in the 100 meter freestyle. Makena Johnson came in 18th in the 100 meter back, 19th in the 50 meter back and 32nd in the 50 meter freestyle. Josephine Abbas came in 22nd in the 200 meter IM and 26th in the 200 meter freestyle.

Brooklyn Rausch finished in 10th in the 50 meter freestyle, 11th in the 50 meter breast and 12th in the 100 meter back and 100 meter breast. She also came in 15th in the 100 meter freestyle, 16th in the 50 meter fly and 18th in the 50 meter back.

Jane Medland came in 12th in the 50 meter fly, 14th in the 100 meter breast, 17th in the 100 meter freestyle and 22nd in the 50 meter back. David Peterson finished in 22nd in the 50 meter back and 24th in the 100 meter freestyle. Amelia Medland came in 12th in the 50 meter back, 16th in the 100 meter freestyle and 19th in the 50 meter fly.
