The Sioux Valley fourth grade basketball team won the 2025 Pacesetter Great 5 State Tournament.
On Saturday, the Cossacks defeated Mahnomen-Waubun (Minnesota) 36-13 and Iowa Falls-Alden 20-16 at Maple Grove Middle School.
Sunday’s championship was played at the Target Center in Minneapolis. Sioux Valley took on the undefeated Minnesota state champion, Cass Lake-Bena. The Cossacks defeated CLB 28-24.
Sioux Valley earned their trip to the Target Center by winning the Willie Mac Tournament in Brookings in March.
The fourth grade Cossacks conclude their season with 13 tournament championships and an impressive record of 57-7.
