Brookings Optimist Club President Dave Norby recently presented Katherine Eberline with a $750 check for the Brookings Summer Library Program.
The summer library program has many activities this summer to help prevent summer slide, which is a decline in academic skills that students can experience during summer break.
The Brookings Optimist Club has also been active with the bike rodeo, which will be June 18. The club was chartered in 1972 and supports youth in the community.
