Brooking Clay Target Club competes at state tournament

The Brookings High School Clay Target Club sent 21 athletes to the state tournament in Aberdeen this past weekend.
There are three male divisions and three female divisions in both trap shooting and skeet shooting. As a team, Brookings placed sixth in the junior varsity division and 10th in the varsity division for trap shooting.
Earning medals were Ava Flaskey, who came in first place female novice trap shooting, and Nadalee Gerjets, who came in third place female varsity skeet shooting.
Leading scorers for Brookings were Ava Flaskey (novice female), Kenzie Owen (junior varsity female), Nadalee Gerjets (varsity female), Breydan Quinn (novice male), Ajay Feucht (junior varsity male) and Owen Hoppe (varsity male).
Nadalee Gerjets also shot a straight 25 (perfect round) at the state tournament in trap shooting. Each athlete participating attempted shooting a total of 100 clay targets (200 for skeet participants).
