Reuben Reinhold Roth, 76, of Brookings, SD, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at the Neighborhoods at Brookview.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Brookings DAV or the Brookings Pink Ladies.
Reuben Reinhold Roth was born in Sioux Falls, SD, on Sept. 25, 1948, the son of Reuben Theodore and Florence (Nelson) Roth. He grew up in Salem, SD, and attended school in Salem, graduating from Salem High School.
Reuben was united in marriage to Kathleen Mary Schnider in December 1969, in Salem, SD. To this union they had one daughter, Pamela.
Reuben enlisted in the United States Army in October of 1968 serving during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in March of 1971. He continued to serve his country for 19 more years in the South Dakota National Guard.
Reuben worked for the City of Brookings in the Waste Water Department until he retired and the went to work as a Meter Reader for the City. He loved fixing things around the acreage to keep busy, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Reuben is survived by his wife, Kathleen; daughter, Pam Wallace; granddaughter, Krystal Roth Mundahl and her husband, Tyler Mundahl and their daughter, Mylah Mundahl; grandson Ryan Wallace and his wife Mariah and their children, Kyler and Kynlee Wallace and; his sister, Judy Hansen and his military family and friends.
Reuben was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
