SIOUX FALLS Sioux Valleys Donovan Rose and Adison Renkly and Flandreaus Faith Wiese highlighted the Brookings-area teams at the Class A State Track & Field Meet over the weekend at Howard Wood Field.
Rose, Renkly and Wiese all had multiple top-five finishes over the weekend.
Boys
Sioux Valley
The Sioux Valley boys finished in seventh place with 37 points.
Donovan Rose came in second in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 14.85 seconds. Carson Wosje, Brock Christopherson, Brady Hiltunen and Mitchell Guthmiller finished in second in the 4×400 relay (3:24.62). Jakob Guthmiller, Mitchell Guthmiller, Wosje and Rose came in fourth in the 4×100 (43.78) and that same team came in fifth in the 4×200 (1:31.15).
Braden Danzeisen finished in eighth place in the triple jump (40-10.75) and 17th in the javelin (134-05). He also came in 22nd in the long jump (18-04.25). Wyatt Nelson came in 22nd in the discus (91-08).
Elkton-Lake Benton
The Elkton-Lake Benton boys finished in 12th with 28 points.
Blake DeVries came in sixth in the 300 meter hurdles (40.98). Joseph Nibbe finished 16th in the 800 meter run (2:03.35). Nate Timm came in 22nd in the 1600 (4:48.00). Taiton Boersma came in third in the discus (151-02) and Tanner Stein came in third in the long jump (20-10.25).
Flandreau
The Flandreau boys came in 23rd with nine points.
Brenton Westberry finished in second place in the 400 meter run (50.20). Logan Kontz came in 24th in the 3200 (10:50.82). Luke Sheppard came in 18th (39-08.25) in the triple jump.
Girls
Sioux Valley
The Sioux Valley girls came in sixth with 29 points.
Adison Renkly came in second in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.73 seconds. Renkly also came in second in the long jump (17-06.50) and the triple jump (36-05.00). Maci Licht came in eighth in the 800 (2:18.11). Savana Guthmiller came in 11th in the discus (112-01).
Flandreau
The Flandreau girls finished in seventh with 25 points.
Faith Wiese finished in third in the 3200 meter run (10:40.93) and fourth in the 1600 meter run (4:57.31). She also came in seventh in the 800 (2:17.76). Josie Hamilton came in 21st in the 1600 (5:45.07) and 12th in the 3200 (12:09.43). Calla Wiese came in 14th in the 3200 (12:12.01).
Kiley Westberry, Ella Hoffman, Rhegan Sheppard and Morgan Sheppard came in sixth in the 4×200 (1:47.66). Morgan Sheppard, Rona Streitz, Rhegan Sheppard and Westberry finished in eighth in the 4×400 (4:11.40).
