WATERTOWN The Class B boys and girls state golf tournaments began Monday as the first round was played at Prairie Winds Golf Course in Watertown and six Brookings-area teams had players involved.
Boys
Flandreau is tied for third as a team after shooting 231 on Monday. Alfie Henderson is in first place after shooting a 71. Hunter Bushkofsky is tied for 26th (79) and Jon Burshiem is tied for 42nd (81). Kaden Burshiem is tied for 57th (83).
Colman-Egans Taylor Kriech is tied for 42nd (81) and CEs Jack Whitehouse is tied for 91st (87). Elkton-Lake Bentons Tanner Drietz is tied for 57th (83). Arlingtons Bryce Heflin is tied for 115th (92). Estelline/Hendricks Colsen Texley is tied for 122nd (93) and EHs Atticus Eyjolfson is in 139th (105).
Hanson is in first place as a team after shooting a 225. Clark/Willow Lake is in second (229) and Wall is tied with Flandreau. Phillip is in fifth (237).
McIntoshs Wyatt Larson and Freemans Tannen Auch are tied for second (72). Sully Buttes Gavin Colson, Hansons Will Jarding, Chesters Carter Vogel, Clark/Willow Lakes Kaden Wookey and Dolands Kaiden Weinreis are tied for fourth (73).
Girls
Estelline/Hendricks’ Ayla Texley and Deubrook Areas Brooklyn Gladis were the top area scorers on Monday as they are tied for ninth after shooting an 88 on Monday.
Deubrook Area is in sixth place as a team after shooting a 293. Brynlee Hanson is tied for 38th (98) and Sienna Ohlsen is tied for 59th (107). Ava Crooks is tied for 74th (112).
Colman-Egan is in 11th place as a team after shooting 310. Savanna Schmidt is tied for 32nd (97) and Mauryn Landis is tied for 52nd (104). Aspen Clark is tied for 67th (109).
Elkton-Lake Bentons Malyha Slegers is tied for 43rd (100).
Dell Rapids St. Marys is in first place after shooting 257 on Monday. Miller is in second place (258) and Chester is in third (273). Philip is in fourth (282) and Clark/Willow Lake is in fifth (288).
CWLs Brynn Roehrich is in first after shooting an even-par 72. Millers Jayce Pugh is in second (73) and Chesters Jadyn McDonald is in third (74). St. Marys Isabella McNaughton is in fourth (81) and Baltics Claire Berg is in fifth (83).
