MADISON The Sioux Valley girls golf team finished in ninth place in the Madison Invite on Tuesday.
The Cossacks had a team score of 404. St. Thomas More won the tournament with a score of 323. Sioux Falls Christian came in second (336) and Vermillion finished in third (348). Aberdeen Roncalli came in fourth (365) and Dakota Valley came in fifth (365).
Taylor Bastian was the top finisher for the Cossacks and she came in 34th with a score of 96. Masey Top came in 37th (97) and Abygale Degen finished in 29th (99). Lillie Noble and Kaedyn Sapp came in 57th (112) and 58th (116), respectively.
STM had the top two finishers as Rylan Horning came in first (64) and Kaitlin Strain came in second (76). West Centrals Ari Jacobs came in third (78) and Vermillions Taylor Reuvers finished in fourth (79). SFCs Tori Peterson came in fifth (80).
Sioux Valley will return to Madison on Monday for the Class A State Tournament. That tournament will be a two-day event that concludes on June 3.
