BROOKINGS Approximately six in 10 U.S. adults (61%) will develop some type of cardiovascular disease within the next 30 years, according to the latest research undertaken by teams from the American Heart Association.
That is why Hy-Vee is supporting the fight against heart disease and stroke and the work of the American Heart Association, devoted to changing the future to a world of healthier lives for all.
Hy-Vee will inspire consumers to celebrate their reasons to live healthier, longer lives by participating in the American Heart Associations fundraising campaign, Life Is Why. Through the Life Is Why campaign, customers can give back while shopping by rounding up their in-store purchase at checkout in May to support the fight against cardiovascular disease.
Hy-Vee is proud to support the American Heart Association in its mission to fight heart disease and stroke through the Life Is Why campaign, said Tina Potthoff, senior vice president of communications at Hy-Vee. This initiative offers our customers a meaningful way to give back and make a difference. Together through awareness efforts, we can help create a healthier future for everyone.
Throughout May, all Hy-Vee stores will provide customers with the opportunity to donate to the American Heart Association by asking customers to roundup their purchase to the nearest dollar at the register and at self-checkouts.
Hy-Vees participation in the Life Is Why campaign shows how businesses and individuals can come together to create real change in the fight against cardiovascular disease, said Kevin Harker, executive vice president of the Midwest region for the American Heart Association. Their support will help advance research, expand life-saving training, and deliver critical resources to communities in need, bringing us closer to a world of longer, healthier lives.
