VERMILLION Grayson Ring caps the USD Twilight meet with a program record in high jump for South Dakota State University on Friday evening.

We had a decent number of folks who really brought it today. Obviously, Grayson Rings high jump record was incredible. Some of the performances here in Ames, in particular the 800-meter, were outstanding as well, along with Josh Beckers steeplechase performance. I think, largely, were in a good place heading into next week. We just have to fine-tune a few things and be ready to go next weekend.
USD Twilight
Ring had an incredible night as the junior won the high jump competition by tying Ben Jasinskis program record of 7-01.00 (2.16m). Rings jump is currently tied for 17th in the west region and tied for 26th in the nation.
On the womens side, Taylor Jochum finished runner-up after clearing 5-02.50 (1.59m).
Over in throws, Nora Peterson took silver in javelin with a mark of 135-10.00 (41.41m). Ryann Moline competed as well, finishing fourth with a throw of 133-01.00 (40.56m).
On the track, Brielle Dixon won the 100-meter hurdles at 13.59, while Katelyn Darnell finished at 14.44 to take second.
Maggie Madsen finished runner-up in the 200-meter at 24.61, while Ellie Harris cruised in behind her at 24.80 to take bronze.
In the distance events, Emma Gonzalez won the 1500-meter with a time of 4:39.31. Nicole Swanson competed as well, taking third at 4:42.12.
Halle Bauer had a solid showing in the 800-meter as the freshman secured silver with a time of 2:17.09.
On the mens side, Tyler ONeil finished fourth in the 1500-meter, crossing the line at 4:04.87.

The Jackrabbits head back to Vermillion for the Summit League Championships, slated to begin May 15 and finish May 17.
