April was a busy and exciting month at the Brookings Activity Center. We were proud to offer a variety of programs that brought learning, laughter, and connection to our members.
BAC kicked off the month with a visit from Officer Seth Bonnema and the Brookings Police Departments drug dog, where members learned about the important role Teddi plays in both drug detection and protection work. It was a great opportunity to see a live demonstration and better understand the training and daily work that goes into maintaining community safety.
In celebration of Earth Day, BAC welcomed Master Gardener Steven, who presented on pocket pollinators and shared simple steps we can take to help support bees, butterflies, and other important pollinators. Following the presentation, members enjoyed a hands-on plantable paper activity, creating eco-friendly seed paper to take home and plant.
April also brought plenty of fun to the center with our Spring Fling Dance, featuring live music by country artist Emma Nicole. Members danced, sang along, and enjoyed an afternoon full of music, movement and laughter.
