BROOKINGS The city is accepting applications for funds for the 2026 fiscal year. The citys fiscal year is the calendar year.
The completed application and other required documents must be submitted to the city managers office before June 1. Please note that city offices will be closed from at noon on May May 30.
Funding applications and guidelines are available:
- Online at www.cityofbrookings-sd.gov/CityFunding
- In person at the Brookings City & County Government Center, 520 Third St., Suite 230
- By calling at 605-692-6281
All proposals must be submitted in accordance with the citys budget cycle schedule and proposal format. Mid-year funding requests will not be considered.
Funding decisions are made by taking into consideration:
- The ability of an applicant to provide a service or outcome that improves the quality of life for citizens of Brookings
- The applicant providing a but for analysis that demonstrates the need for public assistance
- The applicants ability to become self-sustaining
- The duration of the funding commitment
- Operating versus capital requests
