Grant funding will give boost to archivists in South Dakota

PIERRE The South Dakota State Historical Records Advisory Board was recently awarded $15,000 in grant funding from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission of the National Archives and Records Administration.

The funding will allow the board to award $8,000 in scholarships for professional archivists in the state along with hosting a workshop this fall to provide training for archival workers, volunteers, and local records custodians. The funding will also support Archives Month activities, which will be in October.

The scholarship application form is available on the SD SHRAB website. Completed applications are due by May 30. More information on the fall workshop will be available later.
