Northern State University president leaving for Nebraska

PIERRE The South Dakota Board of Regents announced Tuesday that Neal Schnoor, president of Northern State University, has been selected as the priority candidate for chancellor of the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

Schnoor has served as president of Northern State University since 2021, guiding the institution through a period of growth and transformation, including new academic initiatives and enhanced student support services.

“It continues to be my privilege to serve all of you and the community of Aberdeen as president of Northern State University,” Schnoor said. “While I am excited for this new opportunity at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, I will always be grateful for my time at Northern and the relationships we’ve built together.”
