Bobcat tennis sweeps Sioux Falls Roosevelt

SIOUX FALLS The Brookings boys tennis teams swept nine matches with Sioux Falls Roosevelt on Tuesday afternoon.

The Bobcats won six single matches and three doubles.

Zach Mueller won the No. 1 singles match over Yohan Beecroft 6-0, 6-0 and Braylon Peters took down Austin Markman 6-1, 6-2 in the No. 2 match. In the No. 3 match Carson Kreie beat Ian Schmidtt 6-0, 6-1. Brodie McCarty topped Sam Markman in the No. 4 match. He lost the first set 6-2 and then won the final two sets 6-2 and 10-0. Andrew Hahn defeated Andrew Brokmueller 6-1, 6-2 in the No. 5 match and Xavier St. Pierre beat Aaden Tieszen 6-0, 6-0.

Peters and Kreie beat Beecroft and Schmidtt 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 1 doubles match. Mueller and McCarty defeated Austin and Sam Markman 6-4, 6-3 in the No. 2 match and Hahn and St. Pierre topped Brockmueller and Tieszen 6-3, 6-1 in the No. 3 match.

The Bobcats improved to 3-5 on the season. They will have over a week off and will host Watertown on May 1 at noon.
