Interstate 29 project in Sioux Falls begins April 21

SIOUX FALLS On April 21, work is scheduled to begin on the Interstate 29 northbound structure over Skunk Creek in Sioux Falls.

For this structure work, the northbound on-ramp at 26th Street will be closed as work is completed in the east two lanes of I-29. Traffic on I-29 will be maintained in the west two lanes. Weather dependent, this traffic configuration and northbound on-ramp closure is anticipated to be in place until June 13.

Once work is complete, traffic will be switched to the newly constructed east two lanes of I-29 at 26th Street. Work will then begin in the west two lanes at this location.

The prime contractor for this $7.4 million project is General Excavating LLC of Lincoln, Nebraska. The overall project completion date is August.
