Brookings Activity Center participants had plenty of fun in March

March was full of fun, creativity, and connection at the Brookings Activity Center. We kept both our bodies and minds active with a variety of engaging programs.

Our fitness classes continued every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, led by instructors from the SDSU Wellness Center. These low-impact workouts help build strength, improve balance, and keep us feeling our best.

We also spent time exercising our brains with Cranium Crunchers throughout the month. Members completed a series of mental challenges to earn fun prizes and in some cases, even a free meal.

To celebrate St. Patricks Day, teams worked together in a boat-building challenge with limited supplies to see whose design could hold the most coins. The creativity on display was impressive, and there was plenty of laughter and teamwork.

We ended the month with our Last Monday of the Month Bingo, where each month, members win healthy snacks purchased through generous support from the United Way grant.

Looking ahead to April, we have a full calendar of activities, including daily fitness opportunities, educational speakers, and our exciting Spring Fling on April 26 from 2 to 4 p.m., featuring live music from Emma Nichole. Whether you want to dance or just listen and enjoy, everyone is welcome.
