FLANDREAU Five area teams competed in the Barnes-Evans Relays on Tuesday afternoon in Flandreau.
Flandreau, Sioux Valley, Colman-Egan, Elkton-Lake Benton and Oldham-Ramona Rutland all competed in the track & field meet.
Boys
Sioux Valley
Brady Hiltunen and Wyatt Nelson each had first-place finishes for the Cossacks on the boys side. Hiltunen came in first in the 800 meter run with a time of two minutes and 8.10 seconds. Nelson won the javelin throw with a throw of 141 feet and 10 inches. The relay team of Donovan Rose, Carson Wosje, Mitchell Guthmiller, Brock Christopherson won the sprint medley relay with a time of 3:44.28.
Donovan Rose came in second in the 100 meter dash (11.65) and Jakob Guthmiller came in second in the high jump with a jump of six feet. Braden Danzesien came in third in the long jump (18 9). Danzeisen also came in fourth in the javelin (131 8).
Mitchell Guthmiller came in third in the high jump (5 10). Luke Derynck came in fifth in the 1600 meter run (5:19.35). The relay team of Derynck, Tyrus Schulz, Dubhlainn Vermeulen and Carter Sapp came in third in the 4×800 relay (10:14.10).
Flandreau
Wyatt Kontz had the top individual finish for the Fliers as he came in second in the 400 meter run with a time of 57.25. The relay team of Franklin, Donis Castillo, Sam Schmidt, Emisael Bonilla and Gabe Frias came in second in the 4×800 (9:53.57).
Micach Otto, Jake Hamilton, Benjamin Klum and Brayson Gould came in second in the sprint medley relay (3:51.42). Otto came in fourth in high jump with a jump of five feet and 10 inches.
Colman-Egan
The Hawks had three individual first-place finishes. Christopher Lee came in first in the 100 meter dash (11.19). Jack Mousel came in first in the high jump (6 1) and Jase Mousel came in first in the long jump (19 9.5). Jack Mousel, Jackson Zwart, Jase Mousel and Lee came in first place in the 4×200 relay (1:33.65).
Zwart came in second in the long jump (19 1) and third in the 300 meter hurdles (43.79). He also finished in fifth in the 110 meter hurdles (16.70). Hayden Pearson came in third in the 100 meter dash (11.82) and Logan Claflin came in fifth in the high jump (5 6).
Lee, Jase Mousel, Pearson and Jack Mousel came in second in the 4×100 relay (45.06). Mikano Lee, Pearson, Zachary Pederson and Sutton Bunde came in third in the sprint medley relay (3:58.97).
Elkton-Lake Benton
Blake DeVries had the lone solo victory for the Elks as he won the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 41.74. He also tied for third in the 110 meter hurdles (16.69). Nate Timm came in second in the 1600 meter run (5:09.97) and fifth in the 800 meter run (2:23.72).
Brian Flores came in fifth in the 400 meter run (58.51) and Eliot Erickson came in fourth in the 300 meter hurdles (44.27). Colt Beck came in fifth in the long jump (17 10.5). The relay team of Beck, Caden Crofutt, Erickson and Tanner Stein came in third in the 4×200 relay (1:39.57).
Girls
Sioux Valley
\Maci Licht had a strong day for the Cossacks. She came in first in the 800 meter run (1:02.19) and second in the 400 meter run (1:02.19). Adison Renkly came in first in the 100 meter hurdles (16.12). Talya Vincent, Amia Ward, Amya Ward and Licht came in first in the 4×800 relay (10:37.88).
The relay team of King, Caitlin Russell, Amya Ward and Amia Ward came in second in the sprint medley relay (4:51.35). Renkly, Audrey Larsen, King, and Amari Ward came in second in the 4×100 relay (53.36).
Vincent came in second in the 800 (2:37.70) and Amari Ward came in third in the 100 meter dash (13.60). Porshia VanderWal came in second in the discus (103 8) and fifth in the shot put (26 8). Emma Gorvin and Miley Keating came in fourth (4 10) and fifth (4 6) in the high jump, respectively.
Flandreau
Jolie Flatten came in first place in the 400 meter run with a time of 1:00.94. Josie Hamilton won the 3200 meter run with a time of 12:32.73. The relay team of Ella Hoffman, Kiley Westberry, Morgan Sheppard and Faith Wiese won the sprint medley relay (4:23.61).
Westberry came in fourth in the 800 (2:44.14). Claire Wegner, Faith Wiese, Ayashi Artoz and Westberry came in third in the 4×400 (5:15.41).
Colman-Egan
The Hawks had a strong day in the field. Anna Zwart won both the discus (105 11) and the javelin (106 10). She also came in second in the shot put (34 4.5). Michoen Williamson came in first in the shot put (35 5). Quinn Meyer came in second in the javelin (92 3), the high jump (5 0) and the long jump (14 6.5). Elaina Rhode came in second in the triple jump (26 10). Mya Reiff came in fifth in the javelin (75 4).
Isabelle Lee came in second in the 1600 (6:16.34) and Anya Hemmer came in second in the 300 meter hurdles (52.16). Elaina Rhode came in third in the 100 meter hurdles (16.97).
Rhode, Hemmer, Finley Luze, Crystal Silvia-Dominguez came in first in the 4×100 (52.77). Presley Luze, Finley Luze, Brynlee Landis and Hemmer came in first in the 4×400 (4:26.02). Finley Luze, Avery Baumberger, Landis and Flatten came in second in the 4×200 (1:51.19).
Elkton-Lake Benton
Sydney DeVries came in first place in the 300 meter hurdles (51.45). She also came in fourth in the 100 meter hurdles (18.46) and fifth in the 200 meter dash (28.98). Ivy Jaacks came in third in the 300 hurdles (54.03) and fifth in the 100 hurdles (20.72). Breanna Drietz came in third in the triple jump (26 9).
Oldham-Ramona-Rutland
Ancora Gilkerson came in third in the 3200 meter run (17:42.84) Emmalyn Pickard came in third in the discus (95 4). Rylan Pearson came in fourth in the 400 (1:06.14). Logyn Reagle, Bailey Hyland, Kenlee Hansen and Pearson came in third in the 4×200 (1:58.64).
