BROOKINGS The Brookings Area United Way, which serves as the backbone organization for the Early Learners Brookings initiative, invites the community to attend the Week of the Young Child Community Celebration.
In partnership with Northeast Prevention Resource Center and the Children’s Museum of South Dakota are excited to host the Week of the Young Child Community Celebration on April 8. This special event is dedicated to celebrating young children and their families while promoting early learning, community resources, and fun-filled activities.
The day kicks off with free training from 2 to 3 p.m. on Building Self-Healing Communities, providing valuable insights for educators, caregivers, and community members. Registration is requested by calling 605-692-4979 or signing up at brookingsunitedway.org/training.
From 4 to 7 p.m., families can enjoy a Free Evening of Play at the Children’s Museum, allowing children to explore, learn, and create joyful memories. During this time, local organizations will have informational booths from 4 to 6 p.m., offering families access to valuable services for children birth to age 8.
The community is invited to be in attendance for Mayoral Proclamation at 4:30 p.m., recognizing the importance of early childhood development and the impact of strong community support.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to purchase $5 meals provided by Caf Coteau, making it a convenient and enjoyable evening for families.
