Vote for Cassie Juba

I am writing to express my strong support for Cassie Jubas candidacy for the Brookings School Board. I had the privilege of working alongside Cassie when we were both employed by BCYMP, and have watched her grow over the past 5 years as an innovative educator, small business owner, and tireless advocate for children. I can say without hesitation that Cassie would bring thoughtful, ethical, and student-centered leadership to our school district.

Cassies professional background prepares her well for a role on the Brookings School Board. She is the founder of PLAY, an innovative nonprofit tutoring center in Downtown Brookings, where she works daily with students and families to ensure they have the academic support and individualized guidance they need. At PLAY, Cassie supports both students and teachers in the Brookings School District, often participating in IEP meetings at the school. PLAY is not a private school, but an added support for students who may need extra support or a new way of learning material. It does not compete with public school, but works alongside for those who choose or need her services. Cassie brings a deep understanding of the challenges facing students and educators alike, and she has a proven track record of solving real problems with both compassion and strategy.

Cassie is also deeply committed to transparency and ethics. She has been forthright in addressing questions about any potential conflicts of interest related to her husbands role as a teacher at BHS and member the Brookings Education Association. Before even deciding to run, she proactively consulted legal counsel, the superintendent, teachers union, and school board members to ensure she could serve without conflict and she followed through by completing all formal disclosures. Her actions demonstrate integrity, accountability, and respect for the process.

Its important to remember that many school board members across the state and country have close connections to educators. What matters most is how those situations are managed and Cassie has shown she will lead with full transparency and professionalism. Anything you may hear otherwise on social media is simply disinformation.

Finally, if elected, Cassie will not be a “Lone Ranger.” She understands how to collaborate and to work with others. Her focus is not on politics and rhetoric, but on what matters most: our students and their success.

I wholeheartedly support Cassie Juba for Brookings School Board. Her knowledge, dedication, and ethical leadership will be an asset to our schools, and I encourage others to join me in voting for her.
