Names released in deadly crash near Canton

HARRISBURG The name of a Harrisburg woman who died in a two-vehicle crash early Friday afternoon approximately 6 miles north of Canton has been released by authorities.

A 2003 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Brian James Campbell, 33 and of Sioux Falls, was traveling northbound on 480th Avenue when it entered the intersection at 276th Street and collided with a westbound 2014 Chevrolet Malibu. The impact sent both vehicles into the northwest ditch, where the Suburban rolled onto its drivers side.

A passenger in the Suburban, Lexus Lynn Shipp-Garibay, 28 and of Harrisburg, was ejected during the crash and died from her injuries. Campbell sustained minor injuries, while the driver of the Malibu, Erica Latrice-Carmel, 35 and of Magnolia, Mississippi, suffered serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.All information released so far is only preliminary.
